|
Who's Gonna Tell?:
A dubious opening choice, but it grows on you.
Closer Than Most:
The opening track on the American release, they would have been wise to leave it the same for the British too. An very catchy, upbeat song that was released as a single.
Just Checkin':
We stay with the upbeat mood, perhaps unsuitable for this song: it's about women who cannot accept their husbands have died. Released as a double A Side with The River.
Hit Parade:
The mood slows down for this blues style song, with a gravelly voiced performance from Paul.
Masculine Eclipse:
A piano ballad with Jacqui and Paul on vocals.
'Til You Can't Tuck It In:
The follow up to Perfect 10, Paul was moved to write this after finding his first grey hair.
If We Crawl:
Nothing special, but a good song.
Tupperware Queen:
Another ballad, this time Jacqui on her own. It's about how possessions aren't everything in a relationship.
Half Hearted Guess (Is Second Best): |
An experiment with voice synthesisers. It works quite well, and the song isn't bad.
The River:
| Released as a double A Side with Just Checkin', this is a luscious chillout track, with lots of strings (and a harmonica on the single version). Lots of people don't like this one, I can't see why!
